The ‘Boy and Swan’ Fountain, Gliwice, Silesia, Poland. Located in Square Dessau is a copy of a bronze cast sculpture made according to a model by Theodor Kalide in 1833. The first, cast iron version of the sculpture was presented during the Berlin Exhibition in 1894, the figure was subsequently cast using cast iron, bronze and zinc. This work by Kalide was a marvel across the world and won i.e. a bronze medal during the world exhibition in London in 1851. Photographed 23rd August 2021.
